Srinagar, Mar 28 (Reporter) 19 flights were cancelled at Srinagar Airport on Friday due to strong winds triggered by a steep pressure gradient, officials said. Airport authorities said that a steep pressure gradient, a weather-related issue, caused wind speeds to reach 17 knots, with gusts of up to 27 knots. As a result, Srinagar Airport was able to accommodate only 11 arrivals and 11 departures between 6:30 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. At the end of the day, the adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of 19 flights, while several others faced significant delays. Strong winds across various parts of Kashmir valley since Thursday evening have caused substantial damage to multiple properties and infrastructure.
