On the directives of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the police administration has taken strict action in connection with the incident that occurred in Kymore, Katni district. The Chief Minister expressed grief and termed the incident unfortunate, instructing the Katni district administration and police officers to act promptly. Acting swiftly, the police arrested both accused from Karjwara village on Wednesday morning.
DIG Shri Atul Singh, Collector Shri Ashish Tiwari and Superintendent of Police Shri Abhinay Vishwakarma remained in Vijayaraghavgarh throughout to monitor the situation and maintain law and order. The incident occurred on Tuesday, when two accused allegedly shot dead Kymore resident Shri Nilesh Rajak during a dispute between two groups.
TI and Constable Suspended
Following the incident, TI Kymore Shri Arvind Chaubey and police constable Premshankar Patel were suspended and attached to the police lines. Under the Chief Minister’s directives, a special police team was formed to track down the culprits. Both accused, Akram and Prince Joseph, were apprehended by police from Karjwara village. The accused opened fire on the police during the arrest, prompting retaliatory firing in self-defense. Both sustained injuries and were immediately sent to Jabalpur for medical treatment.
