Stock market ends flat; all eyes on US fed for rate cut this month

Mumbai, Sep 3 (Reporter) Taking break after a record rally for the past two weeks, India’s benchmark indices ended on a flat note on Tuesday as the BSE Sensex dipped over 4 points and closed at 82,555.44, as the investors awaited key U.S. data to determine the potential extent of a rate cut this month. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty-50 also remained steady and ended the day at 25,279.85 with a nominal gain of 1.15 points. The Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) had bought equities in the cash segment worth Rs 1,735 crore while the Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) had pumped in Rs 356 crore to buy equities in the last trading session yesterday, according to data available. The Mid-cap and the small-cap indices rose by 0.19% and 0.54% respectively. In the 30-scrips BSE Sensex, shares of 13 companies advanced as they ended in green while those of 17 companies declined and closed in red. In today’s trade, the losers were Bajaj Finance by 1.16% to Rs 7373.80, Tata Motors by 0.64% to Rs 1085.55, NTPC by 0.63% to Rs 407.25 and Tata Steel by 0.49% to Rs 152.10. The gainers included ICICI Bank by 1.37% to Rs 1246.90, Bajaj Finserv by 1.30% to Rs 1863.95, Titan by 0.85% to Rs 3617, and Nestle India Ltd by 0.75% to Rs 2527.95...////...
