Bhubaneswar, Mar 9 (Reporter) A team of officers of the STF arrested 10 Bangladeshi nationals from Bhubaneswar railway station for allegedly entering the state without any Passport, Visa or any valid travel document.
STF sources said here on Sunday that acting on secret information from confidential sources about the unauthorised entry of 10 Bangladeshi nationals to Odisha illegally, a team of STF officers conducted a raid at Bhubaneswar railway station platform and apprehended them.
The arrested Bangladeshi nationals included six males, three females and a juvenile.
On interrogation they disclosed that they belonged to Bangladesh and had crossed the border illegally through their agent near Dhuburi border (Assam) and came to Bhubaneswar to reside here.
During their personal search, seven mobile phones, some Bangladeshi currency notes and Indian currency notes were recovered and seized from their possession.
STF sources said the Bangladeshi nationals were arrested under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act and a case has been registered against them.
All the accused persons were arrested and forwarded to judicial custody.
Further investigation is continuing.
