Ayodhya (UP), Mar 29 (Reporter) The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation has launched extensive preparations for grand and well-organised Ram Navami celebrations this year, official sources said here on Saturday.
Sources said that, considering the scorching heat, special arrangements are being made for the convenience and safety of devotees. Mats will be laid from Shringarahaat to gate number three of Rampath, with regular water sprinkling.
Besides, shaded temporary camps will be set up along Dharmpath to provide relief from the sun. Drinking water facilities have been arranged at 243 locations.
Sources said that cleanliness remains a top priority at the fair and a dedicated team, equipped with machinery, is ensuring hygiene across the area. "To accommodate devotees, temporary toilets, including 34 mobile units, have been installed. Besides, an enforcement team is actively working to keep the fairgrounds encroachment-free," they said.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is personally monitoring these preparations. During a recent review meeting in Ayodhya, he directed the officials to ensure that visiting devotees face no inconvenience.
This year's Ram Navami celebrations in Ayodhya will be even more special following the inauguration of the new Ram temple. With lakhs of devotees expected to arrive, the administration is leaving no stone unturned in its preparations.
The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation has intensified efforts to make the event historic, ensuring seamless arrangements for heat protection, cleanliness, and overall convenience, providing devotees with a pleasant experience.
Under the leadership of CM Yogi, Ayodhya is strengthening its identity not just as a religious centre but also as an organised and safe pilgrimage site.
Municipal Commissioner Santosh Sharma said that the corporation is fully prepared for the fair, with a commitment to ensuring that no devotee faces any inconvenience. "To maintain cleanliness during the Ram Navami fair, a three-phase cleaning plan has been implemented along the designated routes.
In the first phase, 1,204 cleaning workers will be deployed, followed by 398 in the second phase and 136 in the third phase across key locations such as Dharmpath, Rampath, Bhakti Path, Aarti Ghat, Chaudhary Charan Singh Ghat and Darshan Path," he said.
He said that a total of 73 supervisors have been assigned to oversee the process, while 395 dustbins have been placed to ensure efficient waste collection. "Along with cleanliness, toilet arrangements are being made across the entire fair area. A total of 991 toilet seats have been installed, with dedicated staff deployed to maintain hygiene. Handwash and other essential facilities are also being ensured near all toilets," he said.
The enforcement team, along with the police force, will conduct inspections across the fair area to remove encroachments. Besides, a campaign will be launched to take action against banned polythene and raise awareness among visitors.
To address the issue of stray cattle, three dedicated teams have been formed to operate across the fairgrounds at designated times. Furthermore, Municipal Corporation employees will be deployed as needed on Rampath, Dharmapath, and Bhaktipath Marg to prevent the movement of stray animals...////...
