Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the welfare of society can be achieved by adhering to the principles of truth, non-violence and non-possession as taught by Lord Mahavir Swami. He was addressing the gathering at the Digambar Jain Mahakumbh held in Indore. On this occasion, Dr. Yadav also sought blessings by respectfully touching the feet of the Jain monks present. Urban Development, Housing and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, regional MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, and several MLAs were also present at the event.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the land of Malwa has been blessed by the Maha Kumbh of Jain Munis held in Indore, calling it a truly remarkable and unique occasion for the region. He described the Pattabhishek ceremony of the Digambar Jain Munis as a grand and inspiring event. Dr. Yadav said that Jain Munis impart the message of righteous conduct to society through their own way of life. He further noted that Digambar Sadhus embody living in harmony with nature, and their conduct deepens and strengthens society’s faith in religion.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government has decided to prohibit the sale of liquor at all religious places, and this decision is actively being implemented. Additionally, the government has enforced a ban on the open sale of meat. Efforts are also being made to promote the construction of cow shelters across the state. To encourage cow rearing, the government has launched the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, under which a 25 percent subsidy will be provided to those rearing more than 25 cows.
