Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Shastra Puja (worship of weapons) is a part of our ancient tradition. Shastra is a symbol of self-defense and fight against injustice and exploitation. Religion and country can be protected only with the help of weapons. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Shastra Puja programme organized on the occasion of ‘Dussehra’ at Lokmata Ahilya Bai’s Karmabhoomi (Workplace) Maheshwar on Saturday. He said that an industrial belt will be developed in the Maheshwar area to employ the youth. Besides, a tourism village will also come up here. “Ahilya Lok” will also be developed in Maheshwar. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Maheshwar was chosen for Shastra Puja because Lokmata Devi Ahilya has been a symbol of good governance and public welfare. Good governance is to run the government based on the wishes and aspirations of people regarding public facilities. Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai is the best example of this. Along with giving an incentive of Rs 31 thousand to the sub-inspector who confiscated illegal weapons, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced Rs 1 lakh to be given to the Bhajan Mandli for their devotional programme.
