Seven from TN dies in Kuwait fire, Stalin announces solatium

Chennai, June 13 (Reporter) Seven people from Tamil Nadu were among the 49 killed in the massive fire mishap at Kuwait on Wednesday and Chief Minister M K Stalin announced a solatium of Rs five lakh each to their families. In a statement on Thursday night, Mr Stalin expressed shock and grief over the tragic death of seven people from the State in the mishap. They were identified as Veerasamy Mariappan from Thoothukudi distrct, Ebanesan Raju (Trichy), Krishnamurthy Chinnadurai (Cuddalore), Govindan Sivashankar (Chennai), Punaf Richard Rai (Thanjavur), Karupannan Ramu (Ramanathapuram) and Mohd Sherif (Villuppuram). He said he has directed the Non-Resident Tamils Welfare Department officials and the Tamil Organisations in Kuwait to make all arrangements to bring back their bodies to the state. The state government has initiated all measures and steps have already been to bring back their bodies and hand over them to their families. He also said expeditious steps were taken to ascertain the details of those injured in the fire mishap and undergoing treatment at the hospital, while ensuring best of the treatment to them in coordination with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait and Tamil organisations for their speedy recovery. Expressing his heartfelt condolences, Mr Stalin announced a solatium of Rs five lakh to the deceased families and promised that the state government was prepared to render all assistance to all those who had suffered burn injuries and undergoing treatment in this hour of crisis...////...
