Security Forces detect and destroy two IEDs in South Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 18 ( UNI) Security forces averted major tragedies on Tuesday by detecting and safely destroying two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in South Kashmir, officials said. The two IED were found in Pulwama and its neighbouring district Shopian. The first IED was detected at Kashuwa Road, Chitragam, Shopian by security forces. Initially, a suspicious object was found at Kashuwa Road, Chitragam, which later turned out to be an IED. It was destroyed by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS). Army said the detection of IED averted a major terror incident. “Chinar Warriors and @JmuKmrPolice averted a major terror incident today by recovering and destroying IED at Kashuwa Road, Chitragam, Shopian. Indian Army remains resolute in its commitment to keep Kashmir terror-free,” Army Srinagar based Chinar Corps said. Another IED was found at Nagbari, Pulwama during a search operation that was launched following a specific input. “Based on specific intelligence input, a joint search operation was launched by the Indian Army and @JmuKmrPolice. During the search, an IED has been recovered and destroyed in situ at Nagbari, Pulwama. Indian Army remains resolute in its commitment to keep Kashmir terror-free,” the Army said.
