Chandigarh, Oct 4 (Reporter) A day before voting for Haryana assembly elections, state Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Friday asked the Congress to clarify whether it was using money from a Rs 5,600 crore drug racket to fund its campaign for the polls.
Reposting a post from Home Minister Amit Shah on "X", Saini hinted that there was evidence about protection given by the Congress and a political family of Haryana to the racket, and dubbed it "dangerous".
"In such a situation, the question arises that was this family protecting the drug dealers due topolitical influence? Or is the huge amount of money coming from such a big drug racket bein used in the elections of Haryana? These questions are very important and while voting, all the families of Haryana have to keep in mind that who wants to push our youth into the quagmireof drugs and who wants to make them drug-free," he said.
Saini said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "we will make Haryana drug-free and will destroy the entire system of the drug racket along with these big families who support it in a legal manner, this is the resolution of the BJP".
Earlier, Shah hit out at the Congress, alleging the involvement of one of its leaders in the drug racket.
In a post on his social media account on X, Shah said, "While on one hand the Modi government is adopting a zero tolerance policy for a drug-free India, the involvement of a prominent Congress leader in the consignment of drugs worth Rs 5,600 crore seized from North India is extremely dangerous and shameful."
Shah said that everyone has seen the plight of the youth of Punjab, Haryana and entire North India due to drugs during the rule of Congress.
While the Modi government is taking the youth towards sports, education and innovation, the Congress wants to take them into the dark world of drugs, she alleged.
It is very unfortunate that the Congress leaders are trying to trap the youth in the quagmire of drugs using their political influence, he said...////...
