Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is actively working in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s mantra, ‘Focus on Knowledge.’ Efforts are continuously being made to empower women under the GYAN initiative. The Rural Livelihood Mission is playing a crucial role in empowering women by providing economic opportunities and benefits through various schemes Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted that several initiatives were launched under the Rural Livelihood Mission on International Women Day, March 8, to further support women’s empowerment.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the Livelihood Mission has provided a distinct identity to rural women, empowering them economically. Products made by self-help groups are gaining recognition not only across India but also internationally. Initiatives like Didi Cafe are giving women’s entrepreneurship a boost, while the mission continues to set new benchmarks of success through innovation. Rural women are confidently showcasing their products on major platforms, and the state government has taken several steps to ensure the mission’s effective implementation.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that bicycles are being distributed to self-help group women to enhance their mobility and efficiency. As part of a pilot project, these bicycles are being provided across all blocks in Sehore district, with full distribution expected by the end of March. This initiative aims to empower women by improving their access to livelihood opportunities. Additionally, 200 self-help group members in Sehore were distributed with e-cycles symbolically. While the market price of these e-cycles is around Rs 40 thousand, government subsidies have reduced the cost to just Rs 9 thousand 450. These e-cycles are affordable, pollution-free, and easy to use, enabling rural women to travel independently for business and daily activities.
