Mumbai, May 21 (Reporter) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued 'yellow alert' for Mumbai in its forecasts that predicted increased rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in Maharashtra until May 24 due to a cyclonic circulation near the Karnataka coast.
Mumbai's neighbouring areas -- Palghar, Thane, and Raigad -- also face yellow alerts, and a red alert is issued for Sindhudurg.
Heavy rains caused disruptions, including a building collapse in Kalyan with six fatalities, and flooding in Mumbai. An orange alert is in place for other affected areas.
According to IMD reports, this week temperatures are anticipated to vary from 26 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius, along with cloudy skies and precipitation for several days.
