Mumbai, May 20 (Reporter) The Maharashtra cabinet on Tuesday announced a new housing policy with the motto 'My home, my rights', besides seven other major decisions centred on the state's development across various sectors. In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the government decided to set aside Rs 70,000 crore for the state's new housing policy with a comprehensive programme from slum rehabilitation. Specific needs of low-income earners, senior citizens, women, industrial workers and students will be given priority. The cabinet also decided to set up a compressed biogas project for which a plot at Deonar under the jurisdiction of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will be made available on lease at a concessional rate to M/s Mahanagar Gas Ltd. It was also decided to establish a senior-level civil court at Karanja, district Washim, with approval for 28 new posts and an expenditure of Rs. 1.76 crore. The cabinet also approved irrigation projects in Sindhudurg and Raigad districts...////...
