Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh is receiving a precious gift in the form of a rail coach manufacturing unit. As part of the Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) project, the ‘Project BRAHMA’ (BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing) will be established near the border of Bhopal district in Umaria village, Raisen, spanning over 60 hectares costing Rs. 1,800 crore.
The project will benefit the districts of Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore and Vidisha, creating employment opportunities, especially for students from local technical institutes. The project is expected to create over 1,500 direct and indirect jobs.
CM Dr. Yadav noted that the project will play a vital role in accelerating the development of the Bhopal region, which is rapidly emerging as a metropolitan city. It also reflects the spirit of the ‘Make in India’ mission being spearheaded by Prime Minister Modi. The coaches for Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Metro trains to be manufactured here will mark the beginning of a new era in India’s railway system.
The Chief Minister shared these views during a review meeting held at Samatva Bhavan to prepare for the upcoming Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone laying ceremony, scheduled to take place in Obaidullaganj on August 10. Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh will grace the ceremony.
CM Dr. Yadav emphasised the importance of extensive publicity for this ambitious project, which promises to catalyse regional development and create large-scale employment. He directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for the ceremony.
