Punjab: Vande Bharat windows damaged in stone throwing

Phagwara (Punjab), June 12 (Reporter) Passengers on board the New Delhi-bound Vande Bharat Express panicked on Wednesday after witnessing stone pelting at the C-3 Coach damaging windowpanes. The 22488 DN super-fast VBE's two windows were found cracked following the attack that took place between Phagwara and Goraya Railway Station. It could not be ascertained who were the perpetrators. Poonam Kalra and Dolly Thukral, of Gurugram traveling in the C-3 coach, recounted that they heard a loud noise near their seats soon after the train departed from Phagwara around 9.50 am towards Delhi. Initially, no one could comprehend what had happened, but upon further inspection, it was discovered that unknown individuals had thrown stones at the coach from outside. Both passengers recounted that following the incident, railway staff and other officials travelling in the train arrived in the C-3 coach to gather details about the incident that underscores significant security concerns.
