Punjab: PM Modi to virtually inaugurate AIIMS, Bathinda tomorrow

Chandigarh, Feb 24 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bathinda of Punjab at 1400 hours on Sunday. The newly AIIMS was established in Bathinda towards enhancing healthcare accessibility. The initiative, undertaken by the BJP-led central government, aims to provide quality and affordable healthcare services to the people of Punjab, with far-reaching benefits for neighbouring states. Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash, and Punjab BJP State President Sunil Jakhar are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony in Bathinda. The inauguration signals a collaborative effort between the central government and the state to prioritise healthcare infrastructure. Constructed at a cost of Rs 925 crore, the AIIMS, Bathinda will have 750 beds, emphasising the scale of healthcare services it aims to deliver. State Press Secretary of the Punjab BJP, Hardev Singh Ubbha, highlighted that besides catering to the healthcare needs of Punjab, the facility will extend its services to the people of Haryana and Rajasthan, ensuring a broader regional impact.
