Chandigarh, Mar 4 (Reporter) Ahead of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (political) and other organisations protests at Chandigarh, farmers' leaders were taken into custody on Tuesday morning. A report from Phagwara said that farmers' leaders were picked up by the police in Phagwara and Kapurthala as early as at 4 am in the morning. A meeting was called by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with farmer leaders on Monday evening. Balbir Singh Rajewal among other farmers' leaders were present at the meeting. However, the Chief Minister midway left the meeting after talks failed. On the one hand, Rajewal alleged that the Chief Minister dared farmers to "do what they want to do", Mann, on the other hand, on Tuesday, said that he did not leave the meeting midway and had told farmers that the meeting and the agitation cannot happen at the same time.
