Kaithal, May 18 (Reporter) Punjab Chief Minister and INDIA bloc campaigner, Bhagwant Singh Mann, on Saturday launched a fierce attack on BJP, saying that it should not be under misconception that they will break the party by sending Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to jail or will silence the voice of any party by freezing its bank account. While addressing an election rally at Pundri for INDIA bloc candidate Sushil Gupta of Kurukshetra LS constituency, he said that this Lok Sabha election is an election to save the country which is at a dangerous stage. He further said that the country is at such a stage where it will either head towards dictatorship or the democratically elected people will work as per the wishes of people. The country will either go into hands of the party that wants to abolish the Constitution or into the hands of such parties which want the country to progress, he said and noted therefore this is a fight to save democracy and the Constitution. Criticising BJP, Mann said that BJP leaders seek votes for securing more than 400 seats in order to change the Constitution. "If the Constitution written by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar is changed, then elections will not be held in the country and the situation will be like Russia where no one can vote against its President Vladimir Putin," he pointed. Accusing BJP leaders of having become blinded by ego, the Punjab CM said that this country is not someone's property but is of 140 crore people. "Our ancestors have given this country to us by sacrificing their lives. Martyrs like Bhagat Singh, Kartar Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Chandrashekhar Azad and Ashfaq Ullah fought, then we got freedom. The people of Haryana and Punjab had to pay a heavy price for freedom. Therefore, to save this freedom, even today the youth of Haryana and Punjab are standing at the borders with high morale," he said. Continuing his attack, Mann said that when PM Modi came to know that he was losing and BJP will not cross the 400-mark, he started giving threatening speeches, he alleged. He accused BJP of selling oil, railways, BHEL, airport and LIC. He further accused Modi of not allowing farmers to go to Delhi and refusing to talk to farmers. "If inflation is rising, then why are prices of crops not increasing?" he countered. On other hand, the Punjab government has purchased a 540 MW thermal plant and also provided free electricity for farms in the state, he added...////...
