Dinanagar, July 29 (Reporter) In order to streamline the movement of traffic in the historic city of Dinanagar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday dedicated the newly constructed Railway Over Bridge (ROB) on the Amritsar-Pathankot Railway section near railway station Dinanagar in Gurdaspur district.
Constructed over a cost of Rs 51.74 crore, the ROB is a big bonanza by the Chief Minister to the residents of the city. The ROB has been constructed in lieu of level crossing C-60 on Amritsar-Pathankot railway section near railway station Dinanagar.
The work on the railway portion and approaches have been completely funded by the state government. The 730 metre long and 10.5 metre wide project was started in December 2019 and has been completed well in time.
The ROB has 0.75 m wide footpaths on both sides along with which service roads and highway lights have been provided on both sides. Adequate parking spaces have been provided under the bridge with Paver Tiles. The project is of immense importance for the residents of the city as it will give them relief from the traffic hassles.
The Construction of this ROB will eliminate Level Crossing C-60 on Amritsar-Pathankot Railway section. It will thus provide uninterrupted movement of traffic from Border Villages to Dinanagar City and further to NH-54. It will become a strategic route for the Defence movement thereby acting as a catalyst for safeguarding the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country...////...
