Dinanagar (Gurdaspur), July 29 (Reporter) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday said the progressive and brave border region of the state had lagged behind in the pace of development due to the "regressive and feudal policies" pursued by the dynasts who have been representing the area since long.
Addressing the gathering after dedicating a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) here, Mann said the residents of border districts of the state are brave and hardworking people who have always safeguarded the unity and sovereignty of the country. However, the leaders from the area who occupied pivotal positions, never bothered about the development of the region and the welfare of people.
Mann said the leaders who have been elected from here since long have done nothing to to develop the region. He said despite producing great patriots and nationalists, the region did not witness development during the regime of these rulers.
He said the "opportunistic" leaders have no ideology and their only aim is just to remain in power for which they frequently switch loyalties. Citing an example, he said in this area one house has two flags of separate parties because these leaders want that all the power should remain in their hands only...////...
