New Delhi, June 14 (Reporter) Delhi Police Special Cell on Friday said that it has busted an international narcotics drug cartel and arrested two drug traffickers of African origin in the case.
Around 5.951 Kgs of methamphetamine drugs with a value of more than Rs. 20 Crores in the international market was recovered from the drug suppliers, the Police said in a statement.
The accused have been identified as 29-year-old female Marian Kone and Kingsley Onyekachi 37-year-old.
On receiving information about specific information about the movement of a Nigerian lady along with a consignment of Methamphetamine near petrol pump in Mahipalpur, Delhi on 31st May, the special cell team of Delhi Police was constituted, and a trap was laid near the above-mentioned petrol pump, the Police said.
“At about 05.15 pm, Marian Kone with a backpack was identified coming on foot from Mahipalpur side and she stopped at a location opposite petrol pump at the Delhi-Gurugram expressway. After waiting for five minutes, she started moving and was surrounded and consequently apprehended by the members of the team,” it said.
During the investigation, the police recovered 5.127 Kg of Methamphetamine concealed in Cerelac boxes (baby food) and further wrapped in clothes from her backpack.
“Arrested accused Kone disclosed that she was a member of the drug cartel being run by persons of African origin in Delhi. She also disclosed that she had procured the recovered drugs from one Kingsley Onyekachi @ King residing in Nilothi Extension,” the Police said.
The Police later nabbed Kingsley on 3rd June from his rented house in Chander Vihar, Delhi. In his instance, a seizure of 824 grams more Methamphetamine was done from his house.
On investigation, the arrested duo drug suppliers disclosed that they received the consignments of Methamphetamine from a person of African origin in Nangloi, Delhi. They used to exchange drugs mostly in the market areas of Janakpuri and Vikaspuri in Delhi.
“Both arrested accused have also disclosed their involvement in the supply of drugs to various clients in Bangalore and Mumbai from Delhi-NCR through their carriers. Their modus operandi is that they used to send their carriers to Bangalore via Ahmadabad only by long route buses which they used to board at Dhaula Kuan’s Shiv Murti in Delhi,” the Police said.
Carriers carry drugs in secret cavities of their bags. After delivering the consignments, carriers returned to Delhi by air, it added...////...
