Lucknow, Sep 12 (Reporter) Amidst allegation of political parties calling the encounter of an accused in Sultanpur dacoity fake, Director General of Police (DG) Uttar Pradesh Prashant Kumar on Thursday said that there is an environment of law and order in the state and the action taken by the police was unbiased and evidence-based. Talking to the reporters the DGP said that there is a policy of zero tolerance and Mangesh Yadav was involved in the dacoity. He said that whatever operation is done by the police is in the ambit of judicial and law. ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said that Vipin Singh was the main accused. He said that before the dacoity recce of Bharat Jewellers was done in Sultanpur on August 13 and 15 of which video evidence is available. He said that the motorcycle used in the incident was stolen from Jaunpur and it was done by Mangesh Yadav. He said that the criminals reached the shop in two groups. He said Pushpendra, Dabloo, and Sachin reached the spot in an SUV. While Furkaan, Anuj, Mangesh Yadav, Arbaaz, and Ankit entered the shop, Vipin Singh, Vinay Shukla, Arvind, Vivek, and Durgesh were on the spot to take preemptive action in case of trouble. The ADG said that everything has become clear in the interrogation of the arrested accused. The operation was carried out by the police and the Special Task Force (STF) and the incident was worked out. ADG Lucknow Zone SB Shirodkar said that two motorcycles used in the dacoity were stolen from Jaunpur district. He said that the owner of the SUV was arrested in an encounter on September 2. He said that 15 Kg silver was recovered. He said that the mastermind of the dacoity Vipin Singh surrendered in Rae Bareli in connection with a loot in Surat. He said that the police got five days remand in which Durgesh emerged as an important accused among those arrested based on interrogation of Vipin. Around 1.2 kg of gold was recovered from the possession of Vipin Singh. It may be noted that Mangesh Yadav, an accused of armed dacoity at a jewellers shop in Sultanpur, was killed in an encounter with the STF in the Kotwali Dehat area of Sultanpur district on September 5.
