Srinagar, Sep 12 (Reporter) Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi on Thursday met Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhawan and discussed the prevailing security situation, an official spokesman said. General Dwivedi was accompanied by Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command and Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, GOC of Srinagar based 15 Corps. It is learnt that during the meeting the COAS discussed the prevailing security situation in view of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said that earlier in the day the COAS was briefed by the security forces and formation commanders on the prevailing security situation on the Line of Control (LOC) other formations and hinterland in Kashmir.
