Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that whether they are farmers or common people, buying saplings and growing them costs more. Therefore, while encouraging everyone to establish nurseries and orchards, the Horticulture Department should provide them with saplings. Fruit-bearing and shade giving plants that give more benefit at a lower cost should be planted in abundance. The private sector and farmers should also be associated with the plantation work. Species of plants that give more profit should be selected so that in the future, supply (plant production) can be done according to the demand. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign in a meeting at Samatva Bhavan located at Chief Minister's residence on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the farmers and private sectors of the state should also be connected with the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. All departments should speed up plantation to meet targets and also monitor the planted saplings properly. The Horticulture Department should encourage farmers to plant make fruit-bearing trees so that in the near future, by selling fruits, their income can be increased. Through “Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam”, the state government is also committed to increase the income of women from self-help groups. They will be provided financial assistance for three years to develop fruit orchards.
