Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the auspicious occasion of the Indian New Year, Vikram Samvat 2082, Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. Welcoming everyone to the events being held in Ujjain as part of Vikramotsav, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for reviving the glory of Maharaja Vikramaditya’s Ujjaini through the remarkable gifts of the world’s first Vedic clock and the magnificent Shri Mahakal Mahalok.He said that Vikramotsav is a true celebration of India’s illustrious heritage and ongoing development, showcasing the depth and diversity of the nation’s knowledge traditions. The occasion of the New Year, he said, serves as a meaningful reminder of our rich cultural roots and the enduring contributions of our ancestors.
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel addressed the gathering at the Vikramotsav celebrations held in Ujjain on Sunday. The event was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Dr. Arjun Ram Meghwal.In his address, Governor Shri Patel remarked that the celebration of the New Year in its various forms across the country reinforces the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. He noted that this festival is observed as ‘Gudi Padwa’, ‘Chaiti Chand’, ‘Yugadi’, ‘Ugadi’, and ‘Navroz Agdu’ in different regions, reflecting the cultural unity in diversity of India. He further said that the beginning of the New Year also marks the commencement of the nine-day festival of Navratri, a period dedicated to health, introspection, and renewal.
