Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel stated that a new chapter has been written on the sacred land of Samrat Vikramaditya. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister of State for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs (Independent Charge) Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal inaugurated 'Samrat Vikramaditya The Heritage' in Ujjain on Sunday.

Governor Shri Patel extended his best wishes on the inauguration of 'Samrat Vikramaditya The Heritage' and the commencement of Vikram Samvat 2080. He remarked that this sacred land, where Mahakal resides, where Kalidas penned his immortal works, and where Vikramaditya laid the foundation of justice, has witnessed another historic moment today. He emphasized that the revival of the ancient Maharajwada building is not merely a restoration but a commitment to preserving historical heritage. This heritage site is a unique blend of modernity and tradition, offering excellent facilities for tourists. Each room has been given an attractive name, and the site will serve both as a tourist destination and as a place of modern amenities for devotees of Lord Mahakal. The site also offers Ayurvedic Panchakarma and other wellness facilities. He congratulated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for this significant achievement.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state is progressing from heritage towards development. He declared that today marks the beginning of a new era. The reign of Samrat Vikramaditya in Ujjain was akin to Ram Rajya. He emphasized the importance of reviving the great traditions of Sanatan culture. Calling this day a moment of pride for Ujjain, he urged people to take pride in their historical heritage. He recalled that in 1235, Iltutmish had devastated Ujjain and northern Indian states, but the city later flourished under the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Scindia rulers, who built several magnificent structures. The ongoing initiative aims to preserve these historic buildings, which were once used as government offices, as part of the state’s heritage.
