Omar accuses BJP of planning to curtail powers of elected government

Srinagar, Oct 4 (Reporter) Days ahead of the declaration of Assembly election results, the National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Friday alleged that the BJP government wants to curtail the powers of the Chief Minister and elected government. The three-phased assembly elections in J&K that were held after a gap of ten years concluded on October 1, and now all eyes are on October 8 when the votes will be counted. “The BJP has accepted defeat in J&K. Why else would the Chief secretary be assigned the duty to change transaction of business rules of the government to curtail the powers of the Chief Minister / elected government and assign the same to the LG?,” Omar asked in a post X. “This information has come to me from within the Secretariat.
