New Delhi, July 29 (Reporter) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday met with journalists covering Parliament and assured them that issues related to movement restrictions would be resolved. The issue came to light after, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha raised the issue in the house and requested him to remove restrictions imposed on media within Parliament premises. "Sir, I would request you to allow the media, who have been restricted to a cage, to move out," Gandhi said in the Lok Sabha. Other opposition leaders such as Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram, and Shiv Sena-UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also met media persons over the issue in the media enclosure. O'Brien described the situation as “censorship” and stated, “This is completely unacceptable. We are with you in this fight.” Earlier, the media personnel were allowed to record comments from members of Parliament near the entry and exit points of the Parliament building.
