Srinagar, July 18 (Reporter) In a bid to protect tourist resort Gulmarg's fragile environment and maintain its status as a world-class tourist destination, the Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) has announced that no tents will be allowed in the area without proper permission. According to Chief Executive Officer, GDA, Waseem Raja, the decision comes in response to the growing number of unauthorized tents being set up, leading to issues such as littering, illegal parking, and law and order problems. “To protect the eco-fragile zone of Gulmarg and maintain its status as a world-famous tourist destination, the installation of tents will now require prior permission from the GDA,” the order read.
