Lucknow, Aug 26 (Reporter) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati on Monday rejected speculations of her retirement from active politics and said that she will remain associated with the party movement till her last breath.
Mayawati also put an end to rumours of her joining Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) and took a dig at both parties.
She posted on X, "In order to thwart the conspiracies of the opponents to weaken the Ambedkarite caravan of the Bahujans, like Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram ji, my decision to remain dedicated to the self-respect and self-esteem movement of BSP till my last breath is firm."
She said, “There is no question of my retirement from active politics. Ever since the party has put forward Akash Anand as the successor of BSP in my absence or dire ill health, the casteist media has been propagating such fake news that people should be cautious of."
The BSP supremo said, "Earlier also rumours were spread about me being made President, whereas Kanshi Ram ji had rejected such an offer saying that becoming President means retiring from active politics which was not acceptable to him in the interest of the party, then how is it possible for his disciple to accept it.
She said, "SP had a deadly attack on me on June 2, 1995 after BSP withdrew its support, then why does Congress never speak on this, whereas the Congress government which was in the centre during that time also did not fulfill its responsibility on time. That is why Kanshi Ram ji had to be left in the hospital even in his serious condition of illness and his Home Minister had to be reprimanded at night and the opposition also gheraoed the Parliament, only then this Congress government came into action...////...
