Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed officials to ensure that no farmer is left out of slot booking for wheat procurement and that wheat must be procured from all farmers who have booked slots. He emphasised that special care must be taken to ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience, and that no irregularities at procurement centers will be tolerated.
So far, wheat has been procured from over 8.87 lakh registered farmers, totaling 76.60 lakh metric tonnes. By May 5, a payment of ₹16,472 crore has already been made to the farmers.
Dr. Yadav added that we are moving towards breaking last year’s record with a target of procuring 81 lakh metric tonnes of wheat this year. He credited this achievement to the hard work of the state’s farmers, stating that the people of Madhya Pradesh are proud of their Annadatas.
The Chief Minister was conducting a review of Rabi season wheat procurement at Samatva Bhavan (CM Residence). Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain and Additional Chief Secretary (CM Office) Dr. Rajesh Rajora were present in the meeting.
