Muzaffarpur, Jan 5 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced schemes worth Rs 451.40 crore and inaugurated as well as laid the foundation stones of 76 schemes for the development of Muzaffarpur district.
Kumar who arrived here on Sunday during the second phase of his Pragati Yatra inaugurated 51 schemes completed at an expenditure of Rs 9405.46 lakh and laid the foundation stones for 23 projects worth Rs 24590.31 lakh. In addition to this, he kicked the construction work of two schemes at an expenditure of Rs 11144.35 lakh.
Reviewing the projects with the senior officials, Kumar directed them to start the construction work of the proposed roads at the earliest and complete the under-construction bridges and roads at an accelerated pace for the convenience of the people. Referring to the time-consuming commuting and Road traffic hurdles, he said that after completion, these roads and bridges would save commuting time and solve the problems of traffic jams.
During the meeting, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Road Construction Department Mihir Kumar Singh apprised the Chief Minister of the progress of the proposed and under-construction roads and bridges in the district.
After the review meeting, the Chief Minister visited Naroli Gram Panchayat and took stock of the functioning of the Panchayat.
While Interacting with the teachers and Jeevika didi at Anganwadi centre in the village Binda, Kumar appreciated their efforts and assured to extend all required assistance to the self-help groups and Jeevika didis.
Later while talking to the new persons Kumar highlighted the achievements of his government especially in the sector of infrastructure, law and order, empowerment of women and oppressed sections of society, health, and education.
He told newspersons that the ring road would be constructed to solve the traffic jam problem in Muzaffarpur. For this new roads and bridges would be constructed and the existing ones would be widened and strengthened.
He said that the Bairiya bus stand of Muzaffarpur would be known as Amar Shahid Baikunth Shukla bus stand...////...
