Sriharikota, July 30 (Reporter) Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh today termed the successful launch of ISRo-NASA NISAR Earth Observation satellite as a game changer in precise management of disasters. Hailing the scientists, he said the inputs from NISAR would benefit the entire world community in the true spirit of 'Vishwabandh". In a post on X immediately after the 2,393 kg was successfully injected in to the Polar Sun Synchronous Orbit by the heaviest rocket GSLV-F16 after a majestic lift off from the Second Launch Pad at SHAR Range here, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) said "Congratulations India!". "Successful launch of #GSLV-F16 carrying the world’s first dual-band radar satellite #NISAR…a game changer in precise management of disasters like cyclones, floods etc. Also, it’s capacity to penetrate through fogs, dense clouds, ice layers etc make it a pathbreaking enabler for aviation and shipping sectors", Dr Jitendra, said, sharing a video of the satellite taking off from the Launch Pad. "The inputs from NISAR will benefit the entire world community…in the true spirit of “Vishwabandhu”", he said.
