Pune, May 30 (Reporter) The National Defence Academy (NDA) held its Passing Out Parade (POP) for the 148th course today at the iconic Khetrapal Parade Ground in Khadakwasla, Pune. The parade saw the passing out of the first ever batch of 17 Female Cadets from the NDA.
The parade marks the culmination of three years of rigorous training for the cadets and is a significant event in the military calendar.
In a magnificent display of precision and discipline, the Cadets marched past the Quarterdeck with impeccable bearing.
The event was graced by an enthusiastic and diverse gathering comprising the proud parents, distinguished dignitaries, school children, civilians and serving, as well as retired personnel from the Armed forces, said defence release today.
Gen (Dr) VK Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, (Retd) Governor of Mizoram was the Reviewing Officer for the Passing Out Parade, Spring Term-2025. Lt Col Praveen Kumar Tiwari, Adjutant, astride his charger ‘Reliant Robin’ oversaw the conduct of the parade. The Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi of ‘G’ Squadron, commanded the parade.
A total of 1,341 Cadets participated in the parade, of which 336 Cadets were from the passing out course.
This Passing Out Parade held particular significance as it marked the passing out of the first ever batch of 17 Female Cadets from NDA.
With their successful graduation, these pioneering Female Cadets will now join their respective Pre-Commissioning Training Academies as NDA alumni, heralding a transformative chapter in the Academy’s legacy.
The Reviewing Officer presented the President’s Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals to the Cadets standing first, second and third in the order of merit.
The President’s Gold Medal was presented to BCA Prince Raj, President’s Silver Medal to ACC Udayveer Singh Negi and Bronze Medal to BCC Tejas Bhatt.
The parade included flypast by flag-trooping Chetak helicopters, Super Dimona motorised gliders and Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft which marked the culmination of the event and Chiefs of Staff Banner was awarded to the Golf Squadron, said the release...////...
