On Thursday, a delegation of the Muslim community, led by Dr. Sanwar Patel, Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board, met Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at Samatva Bhavan (the Chief Minister’s residence). The delegation expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Central Government, and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for the passage of the Waqf Bill in the Lok Sabha.

The delegation congratulated the Chief Minister, stating that the bill would ensure legitimate rights for the poor and needy in the Muslim community. They emphasized that the bill provides legal protection to Waqf properties, ensuring justice for the weaker sections of society.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reassured the delegation that the state government is committed to protecting the interests of all communities. He affirmed that the government would take all necessary steps for the proper preservation, planning, and fair use of Waqf properties.

Dr. Yadav highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken significant initiatives for the welfare of all communities, and amendments in Waqf Board regulations were necessary to ensure that the poorest and most deserving individuals benefit from Waqf resources. He pointed out that certain powerful individuals had illegally occupied Waqf properties for personal gain, and it was crucial to rectify this issue. PM Modi has taken a major step in this direction.

The Chief Minister congratulated the Waqf Committee Chairman and other officials, acknowledging their efforts in presenting this issue effectively within the Muslim community in Bhopal. He emphasized that discussions and collective decision-making were essential to ensuring justice for the underprivileged, and it was a matter of great fortune that the Lok Sabha has passed this bill.
