MP govt committed to ensuring fair prices for moong crop, says CM

Bhopal, June 11 (Reporter) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said the state government is committed to ensuring fair prices for the moong crop in mandis. He assured farers of a transparent system to facilitate the purchase of moong and encourage traders to participate in auctions. Yadav made these remarks while meeting a delegation of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Madhya Pradesh, at his residence on Tuesday evening. He said the possibility of providing relief in market fees on moong would be explored. Efforts will be made to include Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and ITC in the auction process. The Chief Minister expressed his desire to see the model price of moong increase to around Rs 7,500 per quintal in mandis. He also announced plans to issue new market licences to traders, especially those from outside the state. Yadav reiterated the state government's commitment to supporting farmers, stating that agriculture was a top priority. He highlighted initiatives to promote agro-based industries, cotton production, and gaushala operations, including an increase in subsidy for cow shelters from Rs 20 to Rs 40 per cow. The Chief Minister also suggested that farmers increase their production by adopting crop rotation techniques.
