Hyderabad, Nov 26 (Reporter) Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, and Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha on Tuesday emphasised the need for close coordination between officials and public representatives to ensure the successful organization of the three-day Farmers' Festival in Mahabubnagar, scheduled for November 28.
At a review meeting held at Secretariat here, Tummala highlighted that the state government has allocated unprecedented funds to the agriculture sector, particularly benefiting farmers through loan waivers.
He claimed that 20,000 to 30,000 farmers in each assembly constituency have already benefited. The Farmers' Festival will focus on these achievements, introduce modern agricultural practices, and feature speeches from exemplary farmers, a statement said.
The event will begin on November 28 with farmers from the joint Mahabubnagar district in attendance. Tummala Nageswara RAo will inaugurate the conference, joined by public representatives from the district.
Farmers from other parts of the state will participate on the second day, November 29. On the final day, November 30, over one lakh farmers from across Telangana are expected to gather, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attending as the chief guest.
During the three-day festival, there will be speeches by exemplary farmers, presentations on modern agricultural technologies, and discussions on successful practices in related fields such as dairy and fisheries. Exhibition stalls will showcase modern machinery, hybrid crop varieties, and various government schemes. Each crop will feature a dedicated exemplary farmer whose experiences will be shared with attendees.
To ensure the event reaches a wider audience, the Agriculture Minister has directed that all programs be broadcast live through 560 farmer forums across the state. Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari emphasized the importance of efficient arrangements, including parking, traffic management, and farmer awareness campaigns.
Prominent officials and representatives, including MLC K Damodhar Reddy, district MLAs Dr Srihari, Megha Reddy, Kasireddy Narayana Reddy, Vamsi Krishna, Parnika Reddy, and Yennam Srinivas Reddy, as well as senior bureaucrats and advisors, participated in the meeting to finalize the arrangements.
The Farmers' Festival aims to not only celebrate the achievements of Telangana’s agriculture sector but also provide a platform for farmers to adopt innovative practices and share their success stories.
