Hyderabad, Apr 23 (Reporter) Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya and Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins on Wednesday offered heartfelt condolences to the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, moments before the toss in their crucial IPL encounter here.
Mumbai won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Pandya, acknowledging the warm applause from the fans, said, "Feels good (on the applause). I would like to pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack." On the match, he confirmed one change in the playing XI: "Vignesh comes in for Ashwani Kumar. We need to just execute our plans and take the game as simply as possible, plan properly."
Cummins, echoing similar sentiments, said, "It has been heartbreaking for us as well, our thoughts are with the victims and their families." He announced that Mohammed Shami misses out for Hyderabad. "It is a cause for optimism, we know this surface and ground really well. We've played some really good cricket this year,” he added.
