Meghalaya Cabinet approves post-retirement enhancements of judges

Shillong, Apr 8 (Reporter) The Meghalaya cabinet on Tuesday approved the post-retirement enhancements of judges in the state. Under the new approval, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said retired Chief Justices and judges' post-retirement allowances would now be entitled to reimbursement of 1000 units of electricity consumed per month, Rs. 4200 per month for mobile and Internet connectivity and reimbursement for 100 litre of petrol used every month, plus taxes. He said the enhancements were approved under the Retired Judges’ Secretarial Assistant and Domestic Help Rules 2013.
