Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his happiness over the organization of a mass marriage ceremony in Nagda on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya and Lord Parshuram Jayanti. He noted that this day is so sacred that no separate muhurat is required for solemnizing marriages. In Indian culture, the institution of marriage holds a place of great significance, he added. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, along with Karnataka Governor Shri Thawarchand Gehlot, participated in the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana ceremony organized by the Nagar Palika Parishad at the Atal Sports Ground Complex in Nagda on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that during the ceremony, every bride's parents are blessing their daughter as she embarks on a new chapter of life. He emphasized that marriage rituals and customs are an integral part of India’s rich cultural heritage, with traditions often believed to be destined even before birth. He noted that Nagda has a long-standing tradition of organizing such mass marriage programs, which he described as a commendable initiative. Dr. Yadav extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the newlywed couples.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Karnataka Governor Shri Thawarchand Gehlot interacted with the brides and grooms present at the ceremony and extended their blessings to the newlyweds. As part of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, cheques of the sanctioned financial assistance were distributed to the couples. In addition, each newly married couple was presented with a plant as a symbol of growth and prosperity.
