Prayagraj, Feb 21 (Reporter) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday responded to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's controversial remarks and urged her to visit the Maha Kumbh and experience its grand arrangements firsthand. Meanwhile, West Bengal’s Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari hailed Prayagraj as the 'Amrit Sangam', calling the sacked dip at Maha Kumbh a moment of pride for every Sanatani. The spiritual significance of Maha Kumbh was further highlighted as several prominent figures, including industrialist Rajesh Adani, a delegation from Trinidad and Tobago and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. Praising the meticulous arrangements by CM Yogi Adityanath and the local administration, they described the management as exemplary. After taking a dip in the sacred waters with his family, strongly criticising the opposition, the Assam CM said, "Congress and the INDI alliance are anti-Sanatan. I would request Mamata Didi to come to Maha Kumbh, witness the arrangements herself and take a dip in the Sangam." Emphasising the eternal significance of Sanatan Dharma, he said, "Sanatan is the past, Sanatan is the present, and Sanatan is the future of the world." He also expressed gratitude for being able to participate in the Mahakumbh and extended his congratulations to CM Yogi Adityanath and the Uttar Pradesh government for their exceptional organisation of the grand event. Sarma shared photos and videos on his social media account, expressing his deep spiritual experience. "The dip I took at Triveni Sangam today cannot be described in words. It is not just a confluence of rivers but a sacred meeting point of the faith, spirituality, and heritage of millions of saints," he said. He also described Maha Kumbh as a 'divine bridge connecting humans to Lord Mahadev'. "I feel immensely blessed to have taken a holy dip in Triveni Sangam with my family in the sacred land of Prayagraj. Sanatan Dharma will exist as long as the sun and moon shine. Har Har Mahadev!," he said. West Bengal’s Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari arrived at the VIP Ghat from Bamrauli Airport on Friday. He described the experience as a fulfilment of his spiritual journey. He said, "As a Hindu, a Sanatani and a son of Bharat Mata, taking a sacred dip in the Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh after 144 years feels like receiving 'Amrit'. Prayagraj is truly the land of the Amrit Sangam." He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and CM Yogi's efficient execution for the grand arrangements, while also appreciating the efforts of the local administration. Rajesh Adani, Managing Director of Adani Enterprises and brother of industrialist Gautam Adani, also performed rituals and took a ceremonial dip at Triveni Sangam along with his wife and family.
