Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that education is not merely a medium for obtaining a degree of knowledge. It is also about making a person useful and capable for society. He said that in the blind race of modern life, youth are being deprived of the joy of living. Daily life is becoming mechanical. It is necessary that youth adopt a lifestyle of coexistence with nature. He said to the students that they should use the knowledge gained at this prestigious institution in the service of humanity. They should remain sensitive toward family and society. They should have a sense of gratitude toward parents, teachers, community, and society. They should be ready to uplift the underprivileged.
Governor Shri Patel was addressing the 12th convocation ceremony of Rajiv Gandhi Technological University. On the stage, Ph.D. degree and gold medal recipients of the university were honored.
Governor Shri Patel said that happiness is not achieved by attaining material pleasures. True happiness comes from spiritual joy, helping those in need, and acts of service. He called for education to play a role in creating a social environment that focuses not on the display of service work, but on its outcomes. He said that convocation day is a day to feel proud of one’s achievements, and it is a festival-like occasion for both the institution and the students. There are some moments in everyone’s life that we cherish forever. Convocation day is one such moment, which will always be imprinted in the minds of students. During their time on campus, students have experienced memorable moments and made lifelong friendships. They have received invaluable lessons and abundant knowledge. All this will prove useful in various situations in the future.
