Srinagar, Oct 13 (Reporter) A major fire erupted in Dawar Tulail market damaged several residential houses and shops in Jammu and Kashmir Bandipora district on late Sunday, officials said. Police said the fire broke out at around 8.35 pm this evening in Dawar Tulail Market in Gurez valley of the district and engulfed adjacent shops and houses causing extensive damage to property. They said several fire tenders were rushed from the Dawar fire station to extinguish the leaping flames. Most of the structures are made of wood and caught fire within no time. “Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and civil administration besides the fire fighting men and machines are on the job to control the fire”, police said.
