Mahayuti govt in Maharashtra will not allow scrapping of reservations : CM

Mumbai Sep 11 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday said that Mahayuti, the alliance that is currently in power in the state will not allow scrapping of the reservations. Reacting to Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s comments on Reservation, Shinde accused the former of maligning India's image whenever he goes abroad and talk. The Chief Minister alleged that the Congress MP has a 'pro-West' mentality. He claimed that with his latest US visit, Gandhi laid bare the true face of the Congress Party. In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) in Marathi, Shinde said that it was unbecoming of a public leader like Rahul Gandhi to badmouth the country and saying it was not a 'fair place'. Protesting such use of words, he said when Indians have raised stature of the country in the world by exemplary performance in the field of Information Technology, the former Congress President with his words has insulted all of them. Meanwhile State Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Rahul Gandhi’s comments abroad had exposed his and his party’s “anti-reservation sentiments”. “What was in their mind has come out through his lips. Their anti-reservation sentiments are out in public. It shows the Congress and Rahul Gandhi want to end reservation,” Fadnavis told reporters at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur.
