Mumbai, Jul 11 (Reporter) Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare on Thursday informed in the Maharashtra Assembly that her ministry will prepare a proposal for provision in the budget for construction and maintenance of anganwadis.
While replying to a question raised by member Monika Rajle on topic in the lower house, she said that the Women & Child Development department has sent a proposal to the Rural Development and the School Education departments regarding providing Zilla Parishad rooms for anganwadis and it has been approved.
Therefore, the problem of building 22,500 anganwadis in the state will be solved, she said.
Also, efforts are being made to make all the anganwadis smart, and repairs and new constructions of
anganwadis are being done with the funds of Finance Commission, Zilla Parishad, Hill Development Fund, District Planning Committee, the minister said.
Funds have been received from the central government for toilets in anganwadis, she informed.
In Ahmednagar district, the 15th Finance Commission has proposed 98 anganwadi constructions in the Zilla Parishad Development Plan, added Ms Tatkare...////...
