Mumbai, June 10 (Reporter) In a setback to NCP (SP) ahead of upcoming local body elections in the state, Sharad Pawar's trusted aide and former minister Vikramsinh Patankar's son, Satyajitsinh Patankar, and former mayor of Vita, Vaibhav Patil, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party along with office bearers here on Tuesday. They were welcomed in the party-fold by BJP state working president Ravindra Chavan and Education Minister Chandrakant Patil. Speaking on the occasion, Chavan said that the party will get strength in Satara and Sangli districts following the entry of both Patankar and Patil, who contested the assembly elections on NCP ticket in 2024 and 2019.
