Mumbai, June 10 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday addressed a special press conference here organised to mark the third term of the Narendra Modi government and listed out achievements of the Modi government during last 10 years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India have become a global equation and India's reputation in the world has enhanced due to the Modi government's tenure, he claimed.
In last 11 years, due to various schemes of the Modi government, there has been a radical change in the lives of the poor, women, youth, Dalits, deprived and people from all walks of life in the country, he further claimed while presenting details of the public welfare schemes implemented by the Modi government during the period.
During this period, various development schemes and projects such as railway, infrastructure works, housing for the poor, toilets, free distribution of foodgrains, electrification of lakhs of houses in rural areas, Mudra, Jan Dhan, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana were implemented across the country, including Maharashtra, he said.
The total value of benefits provided directly into the beneficiaries' accounts by the Modi government so far is around Rs 42 lakh crore, the Chief Minister claimed.
Also, the agriculture sector has seen a five-fold rise in last 10 years, he informed and asserted that 25 crore population came above the poverty line after provision of direct benefits to the deprived people of society.
Making a comparison between the UPA government and the Modi government, he claimed that the UPA government beat the odds of Rs 80,000 crore loan waivers, while the Modi government gave Rs 3.7 lakh crore.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima, insurance claims have been settled and farmers have been given a huge relief, he said.
Thus, in last 11 years, the support price of crops, milk production, fish production, ethanol blending has increased, benefiting the stakeholders, he claimed.
Also, during this period, the number of mega food parks has increased, the number of solar agri pumps in the country has crossed 10 lakhs.
With implementation of a new policy in the cooperative sector by the Modi government, sugar production in the country has jumped manifold than in last 50 years, he further claimed.
Additionally, under the Nari Shakti Vandana Act, women got 33 percent reservation in the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assembly, permanent recruitment for women in the armed forces, particularly in the Air Force.
Through the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign, the huge gap between the male and female population has been reduced, Fadnavis added...////...
