Kolhapur, Dec 22 (Reporter) The alliance partners of INDIA front, led by Congress party, on Sunday staged a 'dharna' (sit-in) in historic Bindu Chowk area of the city to protest against Union Home Minister Amit Shah's insulting statement against Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar in parliament last week. The workers and supporters of INDIA front's alliance partners including Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), CPI, CPM, Janata Dal (Secular), led by Congress MP Shreemant Shahu Chhatrapati and Congress district president MLC Satej Patil, gathered at Bindu Chowk and began 'dharna' agitation after garlanding the statue of Dr Ambedkar, chanted slogans against Shah for his insulting statement against Dr Ambedkar in parliament last week. While addressing the rally, Patil alleged that BJP was trying to re-write history by making insulting statements against Dr Ambedkar, but they would not succeed in this conspiracy.
