Maha: IMD issues heavy rainfall alert for Mumbai

Mumbai, June 4 (Reporter) The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued an alert of moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and its metropolitan regions for three to four hours . "Moderate to intense spells of rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri, Raigad during the next 3-4 hours," the BMC's disaster management dashboard says. Mumbai has been witnessing moderate rainfall since Tuesday evening. The IMD had forecasted light to moderate rains for the city this week. As per disaster management data, the areas which have recieved highest rainfall in last 24 hours include Mulund Check Naka (75 mm), Borivali (50 mm), Lower Parel (48 mm), Dindoshi (46 mm), Ghatkopar (45 mm), Wadala (44 mm), Bhandup Complex (43 mm) and Malabar Hill (42 mm).
