Mumbai, Apr 23 (Reporter) In response to Tuesday's terrorist attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir, the Maharashtra government announced on Wednesday a financial aid package for the victims from the state.
A sum of Rs five lakh each will be provided to the families of six deceased individuals, while Rs 50,000 will be given to those who sustained injuries.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, expressing his grief over the incident, confirmed that all six victims hailed from Maharashtra.
“This cowardly act of terror has claimed the lives of innocent tourists from our state,” he said, emphasising the government’s resolve to stand by the victims’ families during this tragic time.
In a move to ensure the swift repatriation of affected citizens, the state has arranged a special flight to bring back tourists from Maharashtra who are currently stranded in Kashmir. The government will bear the full cost of their travel, ensuring a safe and efficient return.
The state government is actively coordinating with the Jammu and Kashmir administration and the Ministry of Civil Aviation to ensure the smooth and safe return of all affected individuals, reaffirming its commitment to extend full support to the victims and their families...////...
